Historical Photographs

A compendium of photographs Chuck and I have taken over the years in various parts of the United States.  Many were taken in the mid-60's and some were taken later.  It's a bit of a challenge to take old snapshots and make them presentable for the web.  Old faded color prints and can be cleaned up, sharpened and darkened or lightened through the magic of a graphics program, but it takes time.  I would appreciate feedback here -- what you like, what you don't like, what you'd like to see more of.

Upstate New York

     Louisiana
I lived in southeast Louisiana in the mid-60's and managed to accumulate a fair collection of pictures of railroading on the Illinois Central, Southern, Gulf Mobile & Ohio plus the terminal activities of New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal.

North Carolina After Louisiana, I lived in central North Carolina (late 60-s through early 70's).  There was a pretty interesting mix of train activty there including the Seaboard Coast Line, Southern, Durham & Southern and the original Norfolk Southern.  Plus there were some cool steam excursion railroads operating in the mountains of the western part of the state.
SCL 1967 - 1970 SCL in the Raleigh-Durham area including a sampling of passenger and freight trains, both through and local, operating on the both the former SAL and ACL lines.
